Computer Problems

Hi. Earlier on today when I was trying to connect my mp3 player to my computer I put the wrong end of the usb cable into the computer due to the fact I never had my glasses on. This immediately reset the computer and when the computer went back on the mouse nor the keyboard would work. The keyboard lights flash on when the computer is first put on but go off by the time the desktop appears. I thought I may be able to reinstall the drivers but I wouldn't be able to get the cd on. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you have the manual, it'll usually tell you to unplug the system and short out a specific set of jumpers for a short time. That resets the CMOS.

If you can't find the manual, you can also remove the cmos battery from the motherboard, and unplug the computer for an hour, that will reset the cmoss. However, I reccomend that you first write down all the bios settings before resetting them, and make note of the cmos battery position before removing it.
