Thumbs Down Toshiba portege R100... after battrey flat wont power up but...

hi all.

got a working R100 Portege. The battrey got flat and conencted it to the charger. Once connected the charger indicator started to flicker. Pressed power button and nothing ... no power. Removed battrey, conencted charger and both the charger indicator and battrey indicator powered up. Pressed the power button and the battrey indicator switched of and charger indicator started flickering (orange) again.

Anyone know what can be wrong please?

thanks for any help

difficult to tell from what you say...
could be one of a few things...power adaptor, m/b, etc..
i would suggest if you could get your hands on a known working extra battery see if that would work...that way you could eliminate some possibilities...

Do that and also, try a new power adapter. Most Toshiba laptops take the standard 15V power adapter.

Is it the power indicator on the power supply? If it is, thats your problem right there. Also, does your power supply make a buzzing noise? If so, the circuitry in the adapter is fried. Try getting a new power adapter first, as it is the cheapest solution.
