Odd sound

my new toshiba lap top has been making a strange noticeable sound lately. it sounds like the fan, to me. it sounds like its being forced to spin. can somebody tell me what to do?

I would say it is either the cpu fan throttling or you left a
CD in the drive.

Spray some compressed air throught the air vents. If it doesnt help since you are saying its new, i hope you have warranty, use it.

i have tried the compressed air, and unfortunately it didn't work. and i'm glad i do have a warranty, i just don't have time lately to go to the comp shop.
