My Dell LCD went black...

It flickered dim/bright for several hours friday then went black. The following day it worked for about 5 min after booting but its been black ever since. Some say its the backlamp, while others say the inverter. My warranty has expired and i've never even opened one up before. Can someone give me some guidance? Any help appreciated.

FWIW, it's a Dell Inspiron 5150

Make sure the one you buy off ebay will work with your particular model. The 1100, 1150, 5100, 5150, and 5160 used different screens from three different manufacturers. Plus they also used about 6 different video cards from either ATI or nVidia. I have found out that they are not all interchangable.

Thanks, I'm assuming with matching model numbers LTN150U2-L02 on the LCD and LTN150U2-B on the inverter it will work?
