acer 5024wlmi sudden shutdown
Hello, i bought a Acer 5024wlmi(x700,1024ram,turion64) laptop a couple a months ago. Ive been very happy with the machine until recently when last week when i was playing World of warcraft(online rpg) it suddenly just shutdown without any warning. And this has happen like 10 times now and its geting annoying. Ive been playing wow for 2months without any problems.
It has only happened when playing so could it be a heat problem? But the thing is that it happens after 2h of playing or 10min of playing. Could it be some kind of virus? Any thoughts? Sorry for my bad english and thank you in advance for your response! |

It could be from the accumulation of dust within the unit. When those things get hot the fans spin like helicopter blades, sucking in everything! Acquire a can of compressed air and when the laptop is off, blow air through the cooling fans.

tried to clear out some dust from the computer as you said dont know if that works, the computer havent rebooted(yet).
So i installed a cpu monitor and just from playing a little wow the cpu temp got as high as 92celsius or 197fahrenheit. I discovered that the shutdown temp was 95degrees so that explains the shutdown but the high temperature? From browsing forums i found out that the 5024 has a heat problem but the temperaturs discussed there was around 80 not over 90. The fans are running ok. What could be the problem and how could i solve it? Thank you for your reply |

Wow, 92c is HOT!! I'd get in touch with Acer about this, especially if its a known issue. My Aspire 1522 LMi usually sits at about 65C according to the software I've used. I plan to take it apart soon and give it a full cleaning.
