Hewlett-Packard recalls rechargeable battery packs
Hewlett-Packard recall on 135,000 battery packs sold with its notebook computers shipped globally from March 2004 to May 2005 after reports claimed they were prone to overheating and catching fire.
The recall involves the battery packs for: HP Pavilion, HP Compaq, Compaq Presario, Compaq Evo. The lithium ion battery packs made between March 2004 and September 2004 have a bar code label starting GC, IA, L0 or L1.
