Beeping Noise...

Hi,

I just upgraded my laptop (ECS Green 732). I installed an Hitachi 7K60 HD, and 2 sticks of Kingston KVR333X64SC25/512 RAM. When I start the computer, it beeps 4 times and I get a blank screen. No BIOS, no screen telling me to install an OS. Not sure what the problem is.

Some other info about the laptop: P4 2.7 GHZ 533 Bus, ATI Radeon mobile.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I took the new RAM out and put the old stick back in and it seems to work, but ECS and Kingston assured me that this RAM is compatible with this computer.

Evidently its not.

I would suggest returning the memory to where you got it and taking the laptop with you, try others.
