Installing a driver on a new hard drive
I have a toshiba portege 2000, and I recently had to purchase a new hard drive. It is a 1.8 inch drive. I am trying to install a software but I have a problem. The cd drive is an external pcmcia drive but that came with a 3.5 floppy containing the driver. The 3.5 floppy drive is usb. How on earth am I supposed to get the driver on the hard drive when there is no operating system. Consequently, the cd drive is not recognized when the computer boots. I feel trapped. I need the cd drive to install the operating system, but I need the driver for the cd drive, but I need an operating system for the driver for the cd. What's up?
