HP Pavilion dv6000 wifi and other small issues.
Hello everyone,
I've been working on this computer for a friend for a couple days and have run into a problem I can't figure out. I had to reformat the computer and reinstalled Windows Xp Pro. After I reinstalled all the drivers were just generic drivers so I went to hp.com and downloaded all the appropriate drivers for her computer. Well now I'm having a problem with the wifi. For some reason it notice available networks but when I try to log into one I put in the WEP, click on connect and the box goes away and doesn't give any indication it's connecting. Well the icon sometimes shows it's connected but when I double click on it, it brings me back into the available networks and the internet doesn't work. So I tried to install my Netgear wifi adapter and that works fine except for some reason it's constantly going off line and then reconnecting. Now the USB drivers didn't update and was hoping one of you can also tell me where to get those drivers because its always saying high speed device in non high speed usb port. Thanks for reading this long story and I hope someone has some ideas. Sorry I don't have any more specs right now I'm at work so whatever help anyone can suggest is greatly appreciated! |
