OS: xp


Can't erase hard drive c to make room

I have removed everything but the basics and I can't make even enough space on local drive C to do anything, I have a sony viao with xp I thought I could reinstall xp thinking it would erase the old, but now I have 2 OS and even less space, it's is partitioned but since c runs windows I can't do anything. HOW do I get erase it, Eventually I would like to get a bigger harddrive but till I have $ i'm stuck

If you are going to reinstall anyway, then simply put your OS CD in the CD/DVD drive and when it comes up, select format and then when done reinstall. Just remember, this will erase all of your data on that drive. When it is finished wiping the drive, then you can reinstall the OS.
