Toshiba Satellite a75
I am working on a Toshiba Satellite a75 for a friend that he was given. When I got it it didn't have a harddrive in it. After replacing the harddrive the machine will shut down after approx. 5 minutes. Need to know what I could do. This problem only happens when I try to install windows xp onto the computer. Can anybody help me with this issue?

Re: Toshiba Satellite a75
Hi,
By reading your post correctly, you are saying that no operating system is installed on the laptop yet but when you try to install an operating system such as windows xp, the laptop shuts down after five minutes. First off, is that hard drive you installed on that laptop a new one? If it's a spare HD then I first recommend testing with an HD diagnostics utility to make sure the HD is working fine. You can download an ISO image of the program from the manufacturer's website of the hard drive. Also try re-seating the hard drive. Hope this helps you out. IT_Consultant |
