HP DV6000 won't detect DVD Drive...

Right so I got a dv6000 which won't detect a DVD Drive. To make sure this is not a problem of a faulty drive I did the following things :

- Replace the dvd rom with another I got (Result : Still not detected either in bios nor windows)
- Plugged the dvd drive from that "faulty" dv6000 to another one and it works like a charm

So it all leads to the problem with a dvd drive controller right ? Is there anything else I can do ?
Just to clarify the bios won't detect either 2 of the dvd drives i got ...

May be a bad connector or a bad motherboard. I suggest you replace the motherboard.
