ACER 7520-5185 (won't start) turns on, shuts off repeatedly
Hi:
This is my first time posting.... I'm getting ready to pull my hair out with my computer. I have an Acer 7520-5185 and it's been a decent computer. Not designed for graphics, but it does everything else well.... Anyway, sorry for the rambling. Tonight, I tried to turn my computer on and the lights came like it was starting, but it promptly shutoff, it tried to start again, shut off so on and so on..... The screen never comes on and I never get to a point to hit F8, or anything because it's acting like it's cycling? Even when I disconnect the power cable, it kept doing it until I pulled the battery out removing all power. I've taken the bottom cover off and cleaned all the dirt and dust out of the machine and that still hasn't fixed it. My gut feeling is telling me it's either my hard drive -- not good -- or my power supply. Ideas? Is my computer dead? If so how do I get my stuff off my hard drive?? |

No... Sorry, I had to pull the battery to stop the cycling. If not, it would have continued until the battery ran out of the power.
The computer still has the problem. |

Have you tested the battery in another (similar) laptop? My two cents, may be you need a new battery.

Re: ACER aspire 5520g turns on, shuts off repeatedly
hi i have the same problem as wildcats has, i know some troubleshooting of computer but mine has realy giving me a headache, I tried to turn my computer on and the lights came like it was starting, but it promptly shutoff, it tried to start again, shut off so on and so on..... The screen never comes on and I never get to a point to hit bios setup or F8 o anything because it's acting like it's cycling? Even when I disconnect the power cable, it kept doing it until I pulled the battery out removing all power. before that my laptop runnning on about 2hrs and suddenly my screen became YELLOW and i cant click anything including control alt delete so i HIT the power button for around5 second and it shutdown, i start again and luckyly It start and go to the window as it look like nothing happen, when i open 1 program like My Computer it HANGED! so i need to manualy shutdown it again, i repeated the same proces again i will hanged me again, so i try it on the third time but it not worked anymore the lights came like it was starting, but it promptly shutoff and on, the battery is fine, i just need to removed it to stop the on/offthe
