Acer 4935 Cannot Turn On Without Battery Attached

Hi,

I have had an Acer 4935 for about 2 months and recently when I took off the battery and had the laptop plugged to the wall using just the power cord, I could press the power button and I saw the blue LED on the power button lighting up but the laptop would not proceed to boot normally into Windows as it just stayed silent with the LED on. I could only get the laptop to power up and boot to Windows after I re-attached the battery. The laptop can still power up and run normally just using the battery.

It seems like when the laptop is without the battery attached, the electricity goes through but just enough to power the LED, not enough for the laptop itself? Any ideas or suggestions?

Adapter giving out required power?

Tested with a new adapter. Still the same problem so I think it's something wrong with the laptop power supply itself.

May be the DC IN connection is bad (DC IN is where the adapter plugs into the laptop).

Yes, maybe it is the DC IN. In that case, the laptop has to go to an Acer authorized service provider I think.

Have you tried bringing it to your local computer shop? May be they can help in checking if it is really the DC IN connection.
