I have a Toshiba laptop with problems

My laptop has been running so slow lately. And now it has started shutting off after about 30 to 45 minutes of being on. There is no warning or anything. It just completely shuts off. And if I try to turn it back on right away it shuts off within a few minutes. Does anyone know if this is a virus? Or if there is anyway I can fix this myself?

Re: I have a Toshiba laptop with problems

Sounds like this could be an overheating problem. Try blowing out the cooling vent to see if this helps. The slowness could be a different problem.
Have you run disc defragmenter.
How full is your hard drive?
Also try running ccleaner to clean up old internet cookies and temp files.
you can download this from www.ccleaner.com
Do not use the registry integrity utility just click on analyse in the cleaner section and then click run cleaner when this has finished.
Make sure that the laptop is on a firm flat surface to allow cooling.
