how do i replace the dvd drive in a laptop?

P-100 PSPA3C-MA502C Toshiba satellite.
i don't even see the screws.
it rattles a heck of lot and so is VERY noisy!
I wonder if it would take a bluray drive
thanks

Re: how do i replace the dvd drive in a laptop?

Removing an optical disk drive
The following describes the procedure for removing an optical disk drive (See Figure 4-
11and 4-12).
1. Remove Keyboard and next remove the screw securing an optical disk
drive.

2. Disconnect an optical disk drive and slide in the outward direction from the connector
CN26 on the system board.
Push Out Optical disk drive

As for replacing it, this model is an IDE connector, I don't belive they make a blue ray drive that uses an IDE connector. That and you would need access to the firmware to change the IDE master/slave settings to even get it to work properly. Best bet and safest way is to just replace it with the same Toshiba part number.
