Re: trouble with sound..!!

Hi and welcome

Please provide the complete model number for your dell laptop. The exact model number of your laptop is located on the bottom side of the laptop, usually near the service tag. This will help us locate the appropriate driver for your hardware and ensure you have the correct one to install.

Error Code 10 indicates that the device could not be started.

Thank you very much!

Re: trouble with sound..!!

Hi and thanks!

Are you absolutely sure of the model number? Could it be a Inspiron 2100?

Could you please provide the service tag number?

Thanks!

Re: trouble with sound..!!

Well, it tells me that it is not a valid service tag.

Could you please go to Dell

http://support.dell.com/support/inde...n&s=gen&~ck=mn

Click on DRIVERS & DOWNLOAD

It will prompt you to choose a method to find the drivers, one is by SERVICE TAG, the other is by MODEL, and the last one is CHOOSE FROM YOU LIST (LOG IN).

Select the SERVICE TAG one, when the screen switches there is a link off to the right "FIND MY SERVICE TAG", select that link and let it do the work for you.

Let me know if it finds the service tag, which would be GREAT if it can because it will give you a detailed list of all of your components along with the correct model number.

Thanks!

Re: trouble with sound..!!

Hi and thanks for the update...

Please follow the link below, verify the operating system is correct in the dropdown menu, then click on the AUDIO submenu to expand it. Download the drivers and then install them! Remember to reboot your system after the installation completes!

Thanks!

Re: trouble with sound..!!

You are welcome...

By reboot, I meant to restart the computer. Shutting it down is always good idea too because that reinitializes the hardware components.

Please mark the thread as solved! (thread tools - mark thread as solved)

Thanks!
