Toshiba Laptop LCD Display has a Horizontal White Line

Laptop / Notebook: ToshibaPSA50C-AG101E - Satellite A50
LCD display has a permanent horizontal 2 – 3 mm wide white line.
Display Type: TFT Active Matrix colour LCD display
Video Card: Intel 855GME (Integrated Graphic Memory Controller Chipset). 64-bit Graphics Accelerator. 4x AGP bus support. 2D and 3D Graphics

Diagnostics done:
S-video output does not show the line on the LCD Sony TV
Reconnected all the cable/pin connections to the LCD and the line is still there

Disconnecting LCD cable 041010DGA1 takes away the line and picture, nly white background is left on the screen. Any ideas about the defect?

Boot into BIOS and observe if line is there... if not then update your video drivers. If problem persists then it could be a problem with your LCD.

The line persists in BIOS mode. If its LCD related than cable or screen itself ??

Yes, it could be the flat (ribbon) cable for video and it would be best if you have a spare working cable to use, just to know if it indeed the cable.
