Synaptics Touchpad advanced features disappear, pointer freezes
Hey
I bought a HP Compaq 615 laptop about a month ago, but recently I've had problems with the touchpad's advanced features (tapping, scroll and pointer motion etc.). This is what normally happens: Touchpad advanced features, such as tapping and pointer motion, disappear. The pad itself still works for a while. After a short period of time however, the pointer freezes altogether. Windows still functions normally i.e. i can navigate it using the keyboard. This has happened twice during the last three days. Restarting fixes the problem - the touchpad, including its advanced features, work just fine again. Still, I'm a bit worried that the problems might escalate. Besides it's really annoying when the mouse suddenly stops working (usually during something important :) ) System info Device: Synaptics TouchPad V7.2 OS: Windows Vista Home Basic (32-bit), Service Pack 2 Would appreciate some help cause I've no idea what causes the problem. Could it be just a driver glitch or is it more serious? Don't think it's damaged or anything as I've been handling my new baby with extra care :) |
