Evil HP 530 LCD Display Shifted to Right!!!

Dear All,

Hello! I am extremely disappointed these days bcoz of the way things are turning out for my HP 530 Laptop. And all these issues are happening merely bcoz of the fraud people in Mumbai, India whom I had given my laptop to for either LCD Screen replacement or By paying the money and changing the LCD screen. The computer market of Mumbai is highly equipped with people of dishonesty and fraud minded attitude and even if one pays money to them, they are still bound to cheat you! All are simply crooks and keep thinking of ways to cheat innocent and genuine people like me. The entire computer market in Mumbai city are filled with Frauds...thereby not leaving back a single person or an organization to trust on.

My Laptops Issue...
This morning, when I turned ON my laptop, I see the entire display of my Laptop being shifted from Right to Left by 10% thereby leaving black area at the right hand corner. Last week, when I turned on my laptop for about few mins, the screen was perfect positioned fine. However, due to the internal fan not rotating, I had to shut down my laptop with 5-7 mins. I had also Disassembled and Reassembled the entire laptop 2 weeks back to check the Fan area if theres any dust and blew Vacuum Blower to remove any dust in the Fan area if any. Also, I could see the Fans connector being properly connected to Motherboard. After Re-assembling everything, I turned on my Laptop and I could still see the Display being positioned perfectly fine! But, the Fan still wasnt rotating.

Also, when I hooked up an external monitor to my Laptop VGA connection, the display positions perfectly fine on an external monitor! But still, the display remains shifted to Right on the LCD screen of my HP 530 Laptop. This I believe is a physical shift taken place as at BIOS mode also, the Display is shown shifted to right.

For your all reference, I am attaching all possible screenshots taken from different angles with my Nokia Cell Phone. Could you kindly take a look at it please?

Kindly let me know of the solution please...

Regards,
Apoorva.

Hi,
Does it look the same (on the LCD) if you just boot into BIOS settings?

Re: HP 530 LCD Display Shifted to Right!!!

Hi There! Yes, it looks the same even if I am in BIOS settings?

And this issue happens right from the time I Turn ON this laptop therefore, this screen shifting issue has happened right from Cold Boot.

Any other ideas?

I had visited PC Pitstop from my HP 530 Laptop after getting the Internal LCD screen replacement done and this is what it has to report about my LCD Screen:

Monitor Model : CMO 21533
Monitor Manufacture Date: March 2006

Also, I don't understand howcome this Display got Shifted to Right all of its own and suddenly?

Kindly assist.....

Regards,
Apoorva.

Re: HP 530 LCD Display Shifted to Right!!!

I am not really sure what is causing it but I am hoping it is just a setting issue... may be in the BIOS setting/configuration. I suggest you try and see in BIOS if there is a parameter there for displays. Another thing that comes to my mind is may be the part used to replace the old one is NOT compatible or worse, defective... thus the behavior even if you boot into BIOS settings.

Suprised Re: HP 530 LCD Display Shifted to Right!!!

Respected Moderator,

Well, there’s no setting as such in BIOS for adjusting the screen position.

Also, when you mentioned: "may be the part used...." - are you referring to the Internal LCD screen that was replaced b'coz the external body still remains the same when the replacement was done.

I had once disassembled the Laptop in order to check if the Fan's connector is properly connected to Motherboard. However, I did not touch the screws of the LCD panel as I didn't require to remove it.
Then, I Re-assembled the whole thing back and when I Turned ON the laptop, the screen was perfectly positioned fine without any issues!

Now, on another forum, somebody has mentioned:
"Pretty sure this is caused by a loose or broken LCD cable. Since you say you have disassembled the laptop a few times to clean it, it's possible you caused this problem yourself by bumping the cable and dislodging it from it's normal position."

Kindly provide your suggestions please....

Regards,
Apoorva.

Evil Re: HP 530 LCD Display Shifted to Right!!!

Respected Moderator,

It is not the question of "Supported Resolution" over here b'coz if that's the case, than when I Turn ON the laptop, at Boot Mode, the screen would have been positioned perfectly fine. This issue is happening right from the Boot mode itself when Windows OS is not loaded.

Kindly provide me with an effective solution.....

Regards,
Apoorva.

Yes. Another thing... I suggest you open it up (the laptop) and check the connections for video again. If possible try to swap parts out starting with the video cable.

Re: HP 530 LCD Display Shifted to Right!!!

Hey Everybody!

One quick question over here! Is it possible that if a wrong AC Power Adaptor gets connected to my HP 530 Laptop and if the Laptop is being Turned ON, it can immediately blow off any component inside my laptop resulting into my LCD Display getting "Shifted from to Left from Right?

B'coz once he connected his AC Power Adaptor, I immediately told him that I have bought my Original HP AC Power Adaptor along which he should be using therefore, he disconnected his AC Power Adaptor from my laptop and then connected the one I bought to the laptop.

Can using wrong AC Power Adaptor affect the LCD Controller Chip of my HP 530 Laptop?

Or has this Display Shift issue occurred b'coz of heating or b’coz I disassembled the laptop myself.

I followed the instructions on this link below to disassemble my HP 530 Laptop:

http://www.insidemylaptop.com/disass...ove-top-cover/

which was explained quiet professionally with all the screenshots step by step.

But I strongly believe that more importantly, this LCD Display got shifted to Left from Right the moment that wrong AC Power Adaptor got connected by that person into my HP 530 Laptop to whom I took this Laptop 3 days back for checking the Fan issue and he is into the business of repairing Laptops in Mumbai.

This is an extreme important question to which I need an answer please....

Regards,
Apoorva.

Re: HP 530 LCD Display Shifted to Right!!!

One more question to add to my last post:

Hi There!

Thanks for your reply! But all I would like to know over here is that if the Voltage of the AC Power Adapter would be beyond 10%, what is the first thing it can damage coming in its way inside the laptop? I mean, is it possible that it can damage the LCD Controller Chip or Shifting the LCD Display from Right to Left? All I am trying to figure out here is that if Plugging in a Wrong AC Power Adaptor can be a culprit for my LCD Display Screen to shift to Right from Left or damaging the LCD Chip Controller on the Motherboard?

(IMO)... No. Otherwise it would have affected the original LCD too.

Re: HP 530 LCD Display Shifted to Right!!!

Respected Moderator,

Hi There! As per your suggestion, I Dis-assembled the laptop and checked for the LCD Video Cable if it is loose or not connected properly. Kindly check the snaps taken and attached here. Well, everything according to me seems perfect. And for my satisfaction, I also unplugged and re-plugged the Video Cable from the Motherboard, yet the issue hasn't resolved. Also, no signs of loose or damage cable as seen from the screenshots.

One more thing, I downloaded latest version of Ubuntu 9.10 and burned it on USB Pen Drive, inserted the same in my HP 530 Laptop's USB port and booted from USB Pen Drive. Even while booting from Ubuntu 9.10, I still notice the same issue...(The LCD Display still shows shifted to Right from Left).

So, what do feel the issue can be?

Regards,
Apoorva.

Re: HP 530 LCD Display Shifted to Right!!!

Hi,

After reading your reply post, it seems to me that the problem is with the LCD. My only suggestion now is to test the LCD in another computer or may be test another LCD in your laptop.
