Toshiba Tecra A2 Win XP drivers
I have had to install XP Pro on a relatives laptop that has been playing up but don't have any of the original drivers.
They don't have the original Toshiba Restore CD which would have been much simpler. The machine is as stated above, can't read any more info off the label, such as specific A2 model or serial number, as it's been worn away with use. I have tried various drivers for the Intel 2000BG (which I believe is correct for the machine), the last of which seems to have installed OK. I can get the Intel ProSet Wireless Configuration screen up and it finds my BTHomeHub & says it is connected to the Hub (I have used the correct wireless key) but isn't connecting to the Internet as I hoped. I have checked Device Manager and this shows under Network Adaptors....Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection as operating correctly i.e no yellow warning. I have also tried to install a Linksys Compact Wireless -G USB Adapter borrowed from my grandson using the setup instructions provided by Linksys online support at the time I installed it on his laptop (he is also running XP Pro). Device Manager shows the adaptor working OK but again I can't make any Internet connection. I am beginning to wonder if I need to install other drivers in order to make the network connection work. I need Internet connection in order to identify which drivers I need to install. Can anyone help me resolve this please. Thanks |

Re: Toshiba Tecra A2 Win XP drivers
Thanks for the link.
All I have to do now is to work out which drivers I need (i.e which would be the default drivers). First problem I had was that no Wireless Lan Drivers comes up for the A2 when I try the search although there seems to be a Atheros driver on the general list but not sure if this is the correct one as it's quite a late date |
