Idea Toshiba X205 overheating when gaming; Fan not running; Options to FORCE it to run?

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite X205 laptop. It had Vista pre-installed, but I managed to get XP Pro installed as a dual boot system 18 months ago via help from this forum (thankyou...)

Recently, I have been having partial "freezes" on my X205 when I am playing Call of Duty. It never did this before. I suspected that it was due to corruption of my XP Pro installation, so I re-installed it. I believe it is still possible to dual-boot it, as the Vista installation is still recognised by the "disk manager" utility, but I have not booted into CVista since I re-installed XP Pro.

Re installing XP did not solve my game-freezing experiences. I downloaded SpeedFan and istalled it. It shows my GPU running at 75 Celcius when gaming, and cooling to 55 Celxius as soon as I close the game.

So, I have two questions:-

1) Does anyone know where I can download any software to actually monitor the speed of my two internal fans, and

2) Does anyone know where I can download any software to control the speed of the fans, so I can force the laptop to use the fan when I am gaming?

Cheers for any opinions on this one...

Rob
