HP Compaq - Removing Battery Issue
Hey guys,
I am trying to find a solution for my friends HP Compaq NX7010, I was in the process of removing viruses, I left safe mode to boot into normal mode but once it reached the point of restarting, it died. I assumed it was battery life, but inserting the adapter showed no signs of achievement either. I'd press the power button, the process and charging LED's would show for a second then die again. I done some quick research and found that removing the battery and replacing it would be a good start, but in attempting to do so I found that the release latch on the udnerside of the laptop is damaged, the latch itself is stuck at midway, and in the attempt of pushing it to the release side, the battery compartments doesnt budge a bit, although I can hear the sound as if something within the laptop has released. In conclusion, my question is that.. after pushing the release tab across.. Is it safe to use a tool such as a flathead screwdriver to prise the battery compartment open ?? I dont want to snap it in half giving my friend more then the issue of computer bugs to deal with Thankyou for any advice ![]() wordplay |
