Toshiba A35 Won't Charge or Run on AC

My Toshiba A35-S159 will not turn on at all.

The battery will not charge when plugged in to the wall.
The computer will not get power when plugged in to the wall, regardless of whether the battery is in or not.
The pin in the DC power jack is present and shiny.
As far as I know, no liquid was spilled on it and the computer was not dropped.

Everything used to work. Slowly, problems charging the battery increased. One day, I realized that the battery only charged when the computer was back (not bottom)-side-down. Soon thereafter, nothing worked.

What can I do?

First thing I would do is test the ac adapter with a volt meter. the A35's use a 19v 6.3A adapter, and you should get a nice constand 19volts out of it. If your not, then try another wall outlet, if still nothing or les than 19volts, then you need to replace the ac adapter.
