Entire row of keys stopped functioning
I have a Compaq Presario V2000 which is just over three years old and suddenly, the W-U keys have simply stopped working. Control Panel says everything is working properly so before I reinstall windows and the drivers in the hope that its not a dead hardware issue, is there anything else I can try?

Re: Entire row of keys stopped functioning
Hi!
I do a really simple test by booting the system to a Ubuntu Live CD (all desktop Ubuntu CDs are live CDs to the best of my knowledge). This will run Ubuntu directly off of the CD without hurting your XP install. In Ubuntu, you can go into one of the "notepad" like programs and or a command prompt & tryout your keyboard to see if it is hardware or software related. Link to Ubuntu: http://www.ubuntu.com/GetUbuntu/download Thanks! |
