Laptop Keeps Crashing

Hi,

I was on my laptop and it decided to crash, i restarted it and the operating system would not load up it just kept showing the loading screen and it would not move on. I restarted it again and i got "Checking disk for consistencey", then it worked. The problem now is that it just keeps crashing at random points.
I dont have a virus and i have had no software or hardware changes.

Can anyone help?

My System

Re: Laptop Keeps Crashing

Hi!

Which operating system is this on?

What is the disk make and model?

My first thought and initial "shotgun" opinion is that you have a failing hard disk drive or a drive with sector or ECC errors developing on it.

Once you get the make and model of the HDD, you should get the diagnostics software from the manufacturer and do a full HDD test on it. Of course, for data security reasons, you should backup your important information as soon as possible - that should be a given.

Like I said, it's just a shotgun opinion, but it would be a very good place to start.

Thanks!

Re: Laptop Keeps Crashing

Run the manufacturer diagnostic test for your laptop or drive. If it fails better to get a new disk and migrate valuable data once it's up and running through an external USB enclosure.
