Re: cant recover from cd
The bugcheck 0x0000009c = fatal machine check exception
Did you use the Vista DVD that you burned on the Toshiba? Did you try the recovery partition? 0x0000009c bugcheck was replaced with 0x124 WHEA in Vista. Any chance you tried an XP disk to boot with? |

Re: cant recover from cd
Why did you decide to restore your system using the disks?
Were these disks that you made, or were they the Toshiba disks that came with the system?

Re: cant recover from cd
I'm not a tech.
Sounds like stopping the configuration corrupted something. Was this a configuration of the OS or configuratioin of an added program? That answer may mean you need to do something other than what I write below. The discs you used I am assuming you made them on first startup according to instructions. I had a huge problem using them my first time too. It seems there is an open secret with Toshiba's that you must press C as it boots to go into the recovery mode. I have since found pressing F12 will give you a menu of options for which drive you want to boot from. Highlight the option and it will boot from that drive when you press Enter. Good Luck Last edited by win98forever; 10-24-2009 at 02:16 PM. |

Re: cant recover from cd
Run the diagnostic utility of the manufacturer. If ok run the diag util from the harddisk supplier. If ok, remove / reseat memory and try again. If ok, then repair your windows install after a backup of the fill disk with either drive image or copy it manually.
