Confused ACER Aspire 9300 HELP!

Please please someone help me!!!

my laptop brackets and laptop cover were broken when 'someone' opened it up too far... the screen still worked then but after replacing the brackets and cover on putting it back together the screen wont work! Tried using an external monitor and it works fine, have also replaced inverter but wasn't that either please help!

dont really want to go to expense of buying new screen when it COULD be something else!!!! just strange that one minute was working then pooooof gone! ;(

Re: ACER Aspire 9300 HELP!

Using a flash light at 45 degrees to the screen can you see your desktop or anything? If not, sounds like the screen ribbon cable has stretched and may have pulled out the connection at the LCD screen side at worst the ribbon cable is damaged. Not an expensive fix, shop about the net for new cable. Also recheck the inverter connections, cause it's cable will have had a stretch also.

On rare occasions a new inverter can cause the older LCD backlight tube to fail. If you can see your desktop using the above method and the ribbon cable and inverter connections are ok then a new backlight tube will be needed.

You can change a backlight tube yourself with a little care.

Exactly what night shift said, but I would also suggest to reseat the LCD cable on both ends if you do not see anything in the screen with a flashlight, possible it just may have come loose.
