Laptop won't turn on.

Ok, so I have this Compaq Laptop. It's a little old but was running fine. I come home, push the power button, and absoutley nothing happens. I have tried numerous different combinations of things and tested all the easily accessible compenents such as the hard drive and ram along with test the ac cord. Also, the battery should be good, can't test it but I cant make it boot even without the battery in. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Nothing happens? You mean no lights come on nor any signs of life showing? Have you tried using AC only or battery only?

Trying not stray too far, have you checked the power ON switch?
