OS: Windows Vista 32Bit Home Premium

Hi guys, hoping you can help me with this ASAP
I have a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion dv6-1210sa Laptop Win Vista Home Prem., 32-Bit Service Pack 2 (soon to be Windows 7 Home Prem.) My system is 100% clean (scanned by Avast! AV and Malwarebytes) and is in general good health (keep the registry and disks defraged and such) But I have noticed a major problem, I didn't have this issue at first (had this laptop barely 6 months) but its here and its getting worse My laptop is always loud now, the fans at the back (the ones blowing the air out) are always at what seems to be their highest level, but the ones on the underside (the ones sucking in air to ventilate the system, are as far as I can tell, dead..) So I'm thinking its an overheating problem, even know after 15 minutes and doing little more than surfing the net, the laptop can get the blank screen and then put itself to sleep (I think, or hibernation) even when on a flat wood desk.. It's out of warranty, help :( what do I do.. |

Re: HP Pavilion Screen Shutting Down - Help :(
You probably just need to clean the fans out. You can get a can of compressed air, and shoot in air through the fan exhaust and then again through the vent on the bottom.
A bit of a cleaner way to do is to to lift the keyboard up and then blow it out, that way if the fan is open on both sides, it doesn't force the dust into the laptop. HP's usually have one or two screws holding the keyboard in place, they are usually marked by a little keyboard icon next to the screw on the bottom of the laptop. |
