Right Click issue
hello all,
I have a IBM T43 with Windows XP. For the last coup of days i have issues with the touch pad (i guess so). The right click menu keeps apperaing on my screen every time.. no matter which application (deskop, word, excel, web browser etc) i am using the right click menu keeps popping up everytime. I thought it was a virus. did a norton scan.. no virus was found but have the same issue.. Any other suggestions on what is going on and why laptop keeps doing the right click everytime. Thanks |

Re: Right Click issue
I just have the track pad.. no external mouse.
The right click apperas irrespective of me clicking on any button. If i am on the desktop screen i can see the right click menu every 2-3 seconds without me doing anything at all. same thing happens on every application i open. right click menu keeps coming on its on its own. |

Re: Right Click issue
ok, what I would try next is to unplug the touchpad, there are usually about 4 screws holding the palm rest down, they are marked on the bottom of the laptop by a little square icon. Unplug that, start it up, and see if it does the same thing, you can use a USB mouse also.
Edit: If your not sure about what screws to take out, you can go here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...id=HOME-LENOVO type in the model Type (7768-CTO for example) click on user guides and manuals, then click on the hardware maintenance manual. In there will be instructions on how to remove the palm rest. Or you can post the model type and I can post a link to the manual for you. Last edited by Madcatz; 10-21-2009 at 09:00 AM. |

Re: Right Click issue
plug the touchpad back in and see if it comes up again. If it does, then you would need a new touchpad. You can post the model type if you want and I can get you the part number of it and the cost if you get it directly from IBM. Type is 7 digit number located on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop, will look like 2456-CTO or 7564-3AU.
