[SOLVED] Evesham 8317R no power
Hi guys just got one of these laptops from surplus to requirements with no ram and no hard drive caddy or connector though thats not the prob.
I have 2 Universal power supplies a PCline 90watt one and some generic thing i picked up off ebay 2 years ago I cant get any power into this laptop no lights no nothing Voltage on the PSUs is 19v and they both power a Lifebook C1020 and a travelamte 4060 no probs but this evesham just will not do anything. I smelt some electrical burning from the socket so think the powerboard maybe shot am not sure on these laptops. Any ideas? |

Re: Evesham 8317R no power
ok, next thing I would do is see if the DC-in jack is on the motherboard or if its seperate, if its seperate, then test the power coming out of the DC-In, it should be exactly the same as whats coming out of the ac adapter.

Re: Evesham 8317R no power
What happens when you wiggle the jack plug? Do you hear slight electrical arcing and the burning smell or just aburning smell? Will the power light come on when you wiggle the jack plug?
If no to the above do as Madcatz suggested.

Re: Evesham 8317R no power
Well I stripped the machine down tonight to the motherboard.
Looked all around the power socket and it seems that a lot of the circuit tracks and some small componentsw are burnt Looks like a strip down and sell the stripped parts on ebay I think thanks guys |
