I have a Gateway Model M-6337. It shut down on its own with battery charged and plugged in charging. Now it will not start. No power light, no sounds, no screen light, etc. I tried what was suggested on another forum of taking the battery out, disconnecting power source, holding power button down for 30 seconds, plug in powersource, then try restarting without battery. This did not help. The unit is a little over a year old.
Thanks for your help. |

Re: Laptop shut down on it's own; won't restart- tried this - help please
When you plug it in to your power supply, try giving the power supply jack plug at the laptop end a wiggle to see if your power light comes on. If it does then your power jack socket in the laptop has come loose. This means resoldering the jack socket back onto the motherboard. This is a common problem.
