Forcing my video output to VGA
Hello, I broke one of the wires in my laptop that tells the computer when the monitor closes, so the monitor always stays on. I use a VGA cable to my TV to use my TV as my monitor.
I was wondering how I can force the signal to go through the VGA output to my TV even if the laptop is open, I know I've seen people talk about it but I dont know exactly how to do it. I have a ATI internal card. |

Re: Forcing my video output to VGA
You could simply clone the signal to both monitors. Don't know exactly where that option is located in ATI drivers.

Re: Forcing my video output to VGA
The keyboard isnt actually broken, its just unconnected inside, the cables for the keyboard and mouse came out when I had it apart, and I cant figure out a way to put them back in and clip them in.

Re: Forcing my video output to VGA
Yeah, I just figured that out, although I believe now that my vga port is broken because no matter what the signal wont leave. Could you reccomend a cheap video card with a VGA port. I have a Dell E1505, its about 4 years old.
