Upgrading my Pavilion DC5215us' processor
Hi, I am new to this forum and very new to upgrading computers. I have a pavilion dv5215us AMD Turion mobile 64 ML-34. I purchased an ML-37 processor, but have no clue what to do next. Before purchasing i made sure that all the information matches by going to this website: (http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD...L34BKX5LD.html & http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD...L37BKX5LD.html) to compare.
I attempted to install, but when i booted up, nothing showed up on the screen. I am in desperate need of help. I have searched many places on line and asked many different people, but noone knows exactly what to do or can give me detailed instructions (keeping in mind im new at this). WOuld you please be able to help me out?! |

Re: Upgrading my Pavilion DC5215us' processor
Upgrading processors in laptops usually is not worth it in terms of being a cost effective upgrade. CPU can be upgraded very little if even at all. Most manufactuers only put in CPU support for 1-5 different processors into the bios, and thats it, if you go outside of that, you'll get nothing but a black screen like your getting.
Only thing I could suggest is to put the old CPU back in, update the BIOS with the latest version, and see if that solves your problem. |
