Dell Inspiron 2200

I have a Dell Inspiron 2200, 1.7 Ghz Pentium M processor, 1.24 gb ram, 40 gb hard drive, cd rw/DVD drive; Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002, Service Pack 3.

Bought Date: Feb 01, 2006

Cd drive is not being detected by system for last three months.

The software did detect the cd drive for few minutes after i reinstalled Windows XP, before crashing. I installed Windows XP using USB flash drive.

Get the following error code on blue screen :

A) [0X0000008E(0XC0000005, 0X8060E3F2, 0XA911F868, 0X00000000)]

B) [0X0000008E (0XC000001D,0XBF931CD6, 0XA480E814, 0X00000000)]

(A) & (B) are different error codes i got on blue screen; where A and B refer to codes obtained by installing the operating system again.

I removed Kaspersky Internet security 2009 which was there during error code A and have installed Avast Antivirus, free Version which is there now (error code B).

I have tried to reduce the no of softwares operating to minimize crashing.

I do not have software for cd/DVD writer/player.

Could anyone tell me how to stop the computer from crashing/rectify the error.
i have also tried to check the hardware and software from help and support and its output is below.
