Suddenly Random Power-Offs (Acer Extensa 5630z)
I have an Acer Extensa 5630z. Yesterday it was working fine, then suddenly it powered off of it's own accord. I checked the power management settings and told it to never power off when on AC power, then turned it back on. After 5 minutes it did it again. Then after boot up. Removed battery and ran on pure AC only. Died after 4. Then again after booting up.
I gave up and ran my restore disks. Everything was going fine until halfway through the Vista setup, the computer died again. I re-ran, and vista set up fully, then the computer died again. I turned it back on and it was running fine Acer was doing it's final junk program install stuff. Then an error message popped up and the computer immediately shut off before I could read what was happening on the message. Booted it up, windows loaded, error message and instant shutoff. I reformatted, went through setup again. Reformatted my 2nd partition as well in case it was a virus that my scanners didn't catch. Everything ran fine from 12am PST to just now. It turned off again suddenly. I'm really at a loss as to what to do. Seriously feel like tossing the stupid thing out a window at this point Anyone have any ideas? I'd be very grateful for any help. |

Re: Suddenly Random Power-Offs (Acer Extensa 5630z)
Have you checked if it is overheating? If you have already installed an operating system into it then try tools like SpeedFan or similar programs to tell you how high the temps get.
