Five year old laptop just crawling...
I have a Celeron-based laptop, Dell Inspiron 1100, and is it age or what because the performance is now just awful these days. I've re-installed the OS twice already and cleaned it up, thinking software or spyware is causing the crawl, but after just a couple hours of being up and running, including idle time, it just seems to run so slow. I noticed that the performance crawls when I go to we stream videos such as on YouTube, or go on social networking sites such as Twitter. Is it just the hardware, specifically the processor, motherboard, or even RAM, the fact that it runs hot all these years and the heat has finally degraded the performance of its hardware components? Otherwise, it's still in decent shape, hasn't been dropped, spilled on, etc., just crawls like a turtle, even with a gig or RAM. Thanks in advance.
