Dell Latitude - D620 // OS error or worse !?! // plz halp!!

Hi guys,

I've included screenshots below. After booting-up my laptop, I can vaguely see the "Dell" logo / splash screen.

Next appears the Win XP "advanced options" and eventually the Win XP "loading" screen, but by this time the screen nearly indecipherable. -- And then the screen goes entirely blank.

I've attached screenshots for clarity.

----------

I have no idea where to even begin trying to correct this problem!

I've been here a couple times before, and you guys are the best! Thanks for any help you could provide me w/ this problem.

Mike

hook it up to an external monitor, see if it gives you the same problem.

if you move the screen back and forth, does it change the picture at all?

Re: Dell Latitude - D620 // OS error or worse !?!

sorry for the (very) late reply...

i tried both connecting the laptop to an external monitor AND adjusting the screen @ various degrees to troubleshoot the display -- no dice.

the display appears no different.

so whaddaya think? is this repairable?

Ok, messed up display on both internal and external monitors, even on the dell logo screen. You could try and do a BIOS udpate, but my guess is that you need to replace the VGA board if your computer has one, or replace the motherboard if it does not have a VGA board.
