Sony Vaio FW285D, lots of odd problems!!!
Hi everyone,
My Sony Vaio Laptop (VGN-FW285D) is acting up very odd, after working on it a bit, the USB mouse freezes but the touchpad still works & the USB mouse wouldn't work again until I shut down & remove the battery pack & power source! (if I unplug it & then plug it to another port it gives me "USB Device Malfunctioning but attaching USB Memories still not a problem & they work. I have used different mice & all the USB ports, reinstalled the Windows & even used different versions of Windows, Visa & Seven but the problem still exists) Sometimes when I turn on the computer it just gives me a blank screen without even having VAIO logo being shown & again it wouldn't get normal & boot up without unpluging the power supply & removing battery pack. I really need help, these things are killing me. Thanks in advance! Last edited by eiankei; 09-07-2009 at 01:58 PM. |

Re: Sony Vaio FW285D, lots of odd problems!!!
since you already reinstalled windows and tried other mice, next thing I'd suggest is doing a bios update. you can go to sony's support website, lookup your model of laptop, and download the bios update for it and install it. Just make sure its plugged into ac power and close any windows or programs you have running prior to installing it.
