Toshiba P105-S6114 loose power jack

I have a Toshiba P105-S6114 with a loose power jack. It just had a motherboard replacement (long story), and it was my understanding that the power jack would have to be resoldered to the new motherboard upon the latter's replacement, thus ending the problem. When I spoke to the technician at the end of the repair, however, I was told that the power jack for this particular model of the Toshiba Satellite had no soldered connection whatsoever to the motherboard - just a piece of plastic holding it in place.

This seems rather--well, *impossible* to me; is it true? Would the AC jack have had to have been reattached to the motherboard upon replacement with this particular model?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Toshiba P105-S6114 loose power jack

Ah, someone from a repair outlet answered my question - it's on a wiring harness. Question resolved.

Re: Toshiba P105-S6114 loose power jack

...On second thought, perhaps I should ask for more information about this fix. I was told by the first repair shop that they wouldn't touch power jacks that needed resoldering, since "the connections [were] too delicate." Is the wiring-harness scenario considered as touchy a fix?
