HPDV9000 keyboard missing letters
hi
hope someone can help my hp dv9000 laptop keyboard keeps missing out letters when i type ,its very annoying i have to go back andretype loads of mistakes. any ideas? |

no i have not tried a external keyboard has i have'nt got one!!, it just seems like i have a virus even the space bar works when it wants to,like other letters it seems very intemittent. |

Well you are correct... it could be a virus too.
Another test I can think of (aside from the easiest one... using an external keyboard) is to use another operating system (boot with linux live CD or boot with a bootable CD/DVD media) and test your keyboard in that environment. If keyboard works well in linux then that proves you may have a virus or something in your Windows. But if symptoms remain then for sure your keyboard may need replacement.

well my lap is only 10 months old and has been trouble free ,i suspect that it is a virus but norton has'nt found anything dodgy so it looks like i am going to have to put up with it........thanks for your help m8 cheers...simon

Ten months old? If so, may be you can still bring it back to the seller for free repairs and/or replacement.
