Acer Aspire Battery/Power issues
Hi, I've got a one-year-old Acer Aspire Acer Aspire 5920G.
I've used it plugged in, almost permanently. Until this week, all fine, probably run the battery down about 20 or 30 times in the year, but apart from that, direct from mains with battery in. Usual light sequence is green light for power and flashing light for battery power while it is charging. When fully charged and plugged in, 2 x green lights. This week, two red lights. the battery light flashing red, the power light consistent red. Battery ran down without recharging despite being plugged in, and the computer can't work on power supply alone. Still get those red lights when I plug in, but no power to work the screen, etc. I assume because the lights change when I plug in, that the power supply is OK (the green light on the transformer is working, though it's not as hot as when the computer was working properly - figure this is because of lack of powering battery?) Should I just get a new battery, though after 12 months with a battery that's hardly ever run down, is this a warranty issue? Happy to get new battery - but not if that won't solve the problem. Should I buy new battery? Seems a bit quick. Thanks |
