display problem .. i think

The laptop largely doesn't function. When I turn it on, the lights on the laptop portion work, and I hear the hard drive and fan start and after a few seconds it slows down a little. However, the monitor shows no signs of life, not even a boot screen as if it's shut down.
i've tried with another monitor but still no signs of life ...
All of this have happend after the laptop felt down so i guess something moved or broke inside .. is there anything that i could do(i know little hardware ..if that could help me) ? or if u have any ideea of what can be please let me know
it's an acer travelmate 2700 and it's pretty old ..
Thanx for any help :D
