Confused laptop cd burner problem

For a while now ive been working on my home bulit desktop pc (A8N-SLI Deluxe mouther board) but I need to flash my bios in it. luckily my pc can flash from cd.
so i whent on burning a dos boot disk when it was finish burning. I then boot the cd and it doesnt work so i put the cd back into my laptop only to notice that the cd is still blank. I tryed many burning softwere (and cds) but still the same thing
nero9,cdburnerxp,imgburn,infra recorder,iso burnerpro,etc.
my laptop model number Compaq presario R3000 AMD
laptop cd burner model number TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R2512

Did you get the DOS boot disk files from a legitimate site? Try redownloading them from somewhere else.

If it cannot burn other files as well, then may be the drive itself need replacement.
