Hp laptop makes a continuous LOUD buzzing from startup

My dv2000 laptop's speakers are making a very LOUD, continuous buzzing noise. I have tried muting it, rebooting, and plugging in headphones and nothing works. The strange thing about it is that it starts from the moment I turn on the computer and continues right until I shut it down. If I try to play any kind of audio it comes through garbled. Please help!

Re: Hp laptop makes a continuous LOUD buzzing from startup

First try uninstalling and reinstalling your audio drivers if you haven't already. That buzzing noise/garbled audio could be caused by a bug in the current software installation. Next I would investigate the possibility of there being a short in the speaker connection, which is another reason why they could be making the buzzing noise/garbled audio.

Buzzing can be heard if you use headphones too? If not then it is possible your internal speakers may need replacement.
