Recently repaired laptop won't power on
Hello all.
I sent my seven-month-old, factory standard Pavilion dv5-1009TX notebook back to HP to have the hard-drive replaced several days ago and I picked it up from the post office this afternoon, only to discover that it won't even start. I hooked up the adapter and the light next to the cable comes on, but the power button does nothing at all. I've held it down, pressed it intermittently, taken the battery out and tried to turn it on but to no avail; it acts as though it has no power at all. Now I really, really don't want to send it back after less than twenty-four hours of having received it, so any advice is much appreciated. I realise this isn't much information to go by, but I don't know what else to tell you; according to the engineer's report, all they did was install an unused, 320gb SATA HDD. Not sure how much help it'll be, but here are the system specs: CPU: 2.53GHz RAM: 2GB x2 HDD: 320GB Edit: Also, the notebook is currently running Vista Home Premium. Thanks in advance. Re: Recently repaired laptop won't power on
Can't think what would be causing that but in my opinion you shouldn't have to mess on with it. You sent it away to get it fixed and they sent it back even more fooked than it was before. Maybe a call to see if they can send someone out to fix it may be an option since you have just got it back and its still not working.

Re: Recently repaired laptop won't power on
I agree, it's pretty slack of them. I mean, the least they could've done is tried to turn it on before sending it back.
I'm leaving it to charge for the night as it's well beyond service hours in my timezone and if it's still a no-go in the morning, I might do just that. Still, thought I'd get this out there to see if anyone else has had a similar issue/has anything unconventional to suggest. Cheers for the response. |
