compaq laptop using windows xp professional has both bios and harddrive password. How to break through is a problem, please help

Hi,
Did you just get this laptop from someone or online from ebay or another site? If so you need to talk to that party and see if they can give you the passwords. We here at TSF can't help you with breaking passwords as it is written in the rules. Cheers!

Thanks TSF. I understand the rule but my issue is a bit diference. The laptop was taken to be serviced, it had a problem but when the owner collected from the repair centre it could not open it asked for the password. He went back to the center but they denied having put any password. So the owner brought it to me if I can help him solve the problem. After trying in vain that is when decided to post to TSF for help. Thanks
