remove cover for hard drive on HP laptop

I need to replace the hard drive on an HP Pavilion ze5700 laptop PC. I have taken out the screws and am trying to remove the cover. It is very resistant. I don't want to damage it. Can ANYONE tell me how to remove this cover. I spent more than an hour on the HP website searching and chatting with support. They provided a video for a different model laptop. There are arrows, but I don't know if they are pointing at how to put it in or take it out. HP support was NOT helpful at all. PLEASE help. (Can you tell how frustrated I am?)

TIA
Nadine

Re: remove cover for hard drive on HP laptop

There are no disassembly docs on HP's technician site.

Is it possible for you to take a picture of the cover and post it? HP's have alot of different ways to take out the hard drive, some are tricky, some arn't.

If its a full size cover, then it either pulls up, or slides out.

Re: remove cover for hard drive on HP laptop

There's usually a symbol on HPs that look similar or a stack of cd's kinda like (O)))

That is where the hard drive is. You may need to remove a rubber screw cover or it may be plain as day and you'll feel really stupid :-)
