Compaq nx9020 wireless switch problem

Hi All,

I have a compaq nx9020 laptop with WinXP SP3 (Celeron 1.3 512MB 30GB HD 20GB free). Have installed an Intel pro Wireless 2200BG card. Downloaded and installed the ProSet software version 12.4.3.0. Both the latest drivers and the ones included with windows display the same behavior. Which is, they will not see any wireless networks. The ProSet software tells me;

"The hardware radio switch is off. To enable wireless, turn on the hardware radio switch."

The problem is no hardware wireless switch exists on this laptop. Does any know a way around this?

Thank You,

Rusty

Re: Compaq nx9020 wireless switch problem

There actually should be a wireless switch if it came with wireless when it was bought.

If it did, the switch is where the wireless light is right above the keyboard, a button actually, press it and that should turn on the wireless.

Thanks for trying to help Madcatz. This laptop was purchased without wireless. It actually has no switch at all. I figured it out. A bios update solved the problem.

Thanks Again,

Rusty
